April at the Forest's Edge
Spring is out in full force here in the South, and my creativity is reawakening, stretching her arms and greeting these blustery, sunny days with joy. I thrive in the slowness, the turning inwards of winter but there’s really nothing like the chaotic tender energy of the Greening.
I’ve been spending as much time as possible outside, gathering wild greens + flowers, slowly tending to my garden beds and clearing out the winter things as more growth occurs and the resting creatures that use my Winter beds awaken and emerge.
There exists such possibility in this in between time, this interstitial space between cold + hot, Winter + Summer, slow + .. well, a different kind of slow. Spring turns to Summer, life awakens and everything is growing, but that doesn’t mean we have to speed up too. We can simply shift our focus and energy into more active endeavors while maintaining intentionality in our days + slowness when we need it.
